Established in 1999 by Marlene Hochman as The Doll and Toy Museum of NYC, we changed our name to The Toy Museum of NY in spring 2009 with the coveted distinction, by the New York State Department of Education, as the holder of the only New York Charter for a toy museum. We are a certified 501(c)3 non-profit educational museum featuring touring exhibitions and educational programs. Our mission is to educate the public on the importance of dolls and toys in our culture, history and art.
The Museum is funded in part by the generous support of donors and sponsors, The Department of Cultural Affairs, NY State Education Department, NYC Youth and Community Development, Astoria Federal Savings, JP Morgan Chase and Con Edison.
