HAMPTON & CO. TO OPEN ON JOB’S LANE WITH LAUNCH OF CAMPAIGN TO FIND HOME FOR TOY MUSEUM OF NY IN VILLAGE OF SOUTHAMPTON
First-Ever Public Exhibition of Magnificent Toy Soldier Collection of Village Resident Orson Munn, Sr. Will Bring to Life Hampton & Co. Store Display

On Saturday, May 30, 2009, Nick Beech, Founder of Hampton & Co., The Honorable Mark Epley, Mayor of Southampton, Mr. and Mrs. Orson D. Munn and Ms. Linda Munn, Marlene Hochman, founder and president of The Toy Museum of New York, kicked off the summer with a press preview of Hampton & Co.’s made in America collection and philanthropic initiative.

Hampton & Co. located at 60b Jobs
Lane, Southampton, New York opened its flagship store and kicked off a summer of philanthropy. Through its unique business platform, Hampton & Co. is committed to giving back to the local community and producing all of its items in America, donating a minimum of ten percent of sales, funds and in-kind donations to select local charities that contribute to the landscape and culture of the Hamptons. By providing consumers with luxurious, high quality classics, Hampton & Co. seeks to encourage commerce, culture and goodwill throughout the community from which it is inspired.

Orson D. Munn, a longtime resident of Southampton and a former Village Trustee, will preview a selection of his remarkable private collection of antique toy soldiers to benefit the Orson D. Munn Endowment Fund for the Toy Museum of New York that is chaired by his daughter Linda Munn. The Fund will help to realize the dream of establishing The Toy Museum of New York in the Village of Southampton. Orson began collecting toy soldiers in Southampton when he was five years old and has over 10,000 soldiers
featuring battle scenes from the 1700s to World War II.  Other charities Hampton & Co. is supporting include the Parrish Museum, the Southampton Fresh Air Home, Southampton Hospital and ARF, among others.

ABOUT HAMPTON & CO.: Nick Beech, a long-time resident of Wainscott, global traveler and entrepreneur, founded Hampton & CO. as a lifestyle fashion brand inspired by the beauty and spirit of the Hamptons. Capturing the spontaneity of a casual, relaxed lifestyle, the premier collection includes reinvented classics such as sailcloth bags, polo shirts, ties, beachwear and resort essentials. Masterfully crafted and made in America, it reflects the effortless elegance that has always been an innate part of the Hamptons spirit. Conserving the best of the Hamptons lifestyle, Hampton & Co. celebrates a summer paradise of friends, sunsets, beaches and bonfires.
ABOUT THE TOY MUSEUM OF NEW YORK: First established in 1999 as The Doll and Toy Museum of NYC, the not-for-profit educational museum changed its name to The Toy Museum of New York in Spring 2009 with the coveted distinction, by the New York State Department of Education, as the holder of the only New York Charter for a toy museum.  Currently a ‘traveling museum’ featuring touring exhibitions and educational programs, the Board and friends of the Museum are conducting a ‘Discovery Tour’ to find the Museum a permanent home in the Village of Southampton that will reflect its broader mandate to provide an educational center for antique toys and collectibles.  The permanent museum, designed for children of all ages, will be as educational as it will be entertaining all year long, and will feature permanent displays of unrivaled private collections such as the Orson Munn Collection, one of the largest toy soldier collections in America.  To preserve its original mission, the Museum will also continue to curate special touring exhibitions and feature educational programs using toys as a teaching aid for school subjects such as history and social studies.

Please help support this new store while supporting the Museum too. The Hampton & Co. collection is available at the store and online at www.hamptonandco.com.
